The player Jair Tavares, a forward who did all his training at Benfica, will continue his career at Hibernian, a Scottish team, the Lisbon club announced today in a note published on its official website.

“Benfica informs that it has reached an agreement with Hibernian for the permanent transfer of Jair Tavares. The 21-year-old forward did all the training at Benfica, having represented the B team in the final season 2021/22, for which he played 24 games and scored four goals”, reads the publication of the ‘incarnates’.

Tavares, international for the Portuguese youth teams, had a contract until 2026 and leaves Luz without having played any official game for Benfica’s main team.

Hibernian, a historic Scottish club, finished the last edition of the championship in eighth place and reached the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.
